Kingussie is an ideal base for a winter sports holiday, the snow usually arrives in early December and stays on the mountains until mid April.

For the more adventurous "Ski Touring" both on skis and split boards is becoming increasingly popular and a recognised route begins at Kingussie High street and takes you 4 miles to the summit of Fhreiceadain in the Monaliaths and a wonderful ski decent back down to the village. A 5-6 hour trip, this can be done on cross country equipment as well as ski mountaneering equipment.
